This November as the holiday season begins one way to give thanks is to give back to your community through volunteering. Featured below are a few volunteer opportunities in the Birmingham area that are available for all ages  so you can spend time with your friends and family through volunteering.


Jones Valley Urban Teaching Farm

Key Club Supply Drive

Until November 15th

Key Club will be holding a supply drive for the Our Hope International foundation that supports an orphanage in Uganda. They are asking for flip flops size twelve or higher, chapstick, reading glasses of lower strength, school supplies, clothes, toys, travel size toiletries, and medical supplies. Supplies can be brought to the boxes in Town Hall. Also, the head of the foundation, Edith Lukabwe, will be speaking at Springs on D-Day.

Moss Rock Nature Preserve

Moss Rock is hosting this family volunteer day, welcome to all volunteers ages six or older to help clean up the trails and facilities at the preserve. All equipment will be supplied along with food and beverages.

North Hill Nursing Home

Habitat for Humanity

November 29, 2018- December 13, 2018

The Habitat for Humanity: Home for the Holidays event is a ten day project to build a home for a family. Volunteers ages ten and older can participate and no building experience or supplies are required.
